Mud Pies for Dinner

I started this blog to embarrass my children. That is my number one goal. If you are entertained in the meantime…great.

4 Lessons Stacey Dash Can Help Us Teach our Daughters

The internet, the radio, and television are blowing up with Stacey Dash.  My favorites, so far, are from Funky Dineva and Roland Martin.  Okay, they are not journalistic peers, but their responses are informative and hilarious.  These days it seems like our children are getting their news and ideas about how society works from gossip blogs and quick videos on social media sites.  This thing…this issue, if you want to call it that, is more than a sound bite.  It warrants a conversation with our … Read More »

Disney Channel Overdose

Anthony and I generally don't like our kids to watch much television. We're not super-psychotic parents who unrealistically think that we can raise our kids without the influence of television.  We just know that too much television is not good for OUR kids. Fortunately, when they watch TV they tend to gravitate toward supposedly healthy and wholesome television programming like Disney Channel and TV Land.   Too much of a "good thing," though, can be really bad...for their … Read More »

Peanut Butter and Fake Jelly Sandwiches

I will admit that I am dramatic. I'm not quite the drama queen, but I'm definitely animated. My antics are mostly for my own entertainment though. I enjoy watching people's reactions to the things I say and do. Every now and then, I am forced to use my dramatics to drive home a serious point, which brings me to the subject matter of this post. When Olivia was in fourth grade, I picked her and her sisters up from school. On the five minute drive home, I asked the standard question, "How was … Read More »

Yes baby, I DO know Jesus’ telephone number.

One night, when my girls were very little (I'd say around 3, 5, and 7), they started to ask me questions after nighttime prayer: "Mommy, does Jesus REALLY see everything?" "Yes baby, He sees everything." "Mommy, does He see even when no one else is around?" "Yes baby, even when no one else is around." "Mommy, did He see who broke your picture?" "Yes baby, He saw that." "Mommy, do you talk to Jesus." "Yes baby, I do talk to Jesus." "Does Jesus talk to YOU, Mommy?" … Read More »

About Me

About the Mother

Welcome to my blog.  I am a busy mother of three girls, one boy, and one little angel in Heaven.  I am also an attorney and wife to a wonderful man who deals patiently with my "quirky" view on motherhood.  I say "quirky" while others say "crazy."  Either way you look at it, I plan on making it through this motherhood thing without  my children making me old before my time.  Even if no one else reads this blog, I know that my children will and they will be embarrassed.  The mere thought makes my heart warm.  :-)  Don't judge
